Talking Points:

  • One could convert the South-facing deck into an all-season Sun Room, then extend the deck to rap around the west side of your new home; you might also add a glass entrance door on one side of the chimney.

  • The depth of your stream-fed frog pond is easy to maintain. All it takes is a periodic 10-minute session with a rake.  The mouth of the creek is designed to divert the water west and east when the creek rises from heavy rain.

  • There is virtually NO flood risk.  Your home is at 700 feet above sea level, and sited well out of harm's way should there be a 50-year flood!

  • You can choose to let areas of the lawn go to meadow.  Most of our neighbors hire lawn services.  We have incrementally added beds of pachysandra and vinca to reduce the area to be mowed.

  •  The skylight in the Master bedroom provides whole-house circulation and cooling without use of electricity.  The wood stove provides whole house heating if you choose to go that way.
